Strategic Plan
The Board of Trustees periodically updates our Strategic Plan to guide RAPTOR Inc.’s continued growth and to focus on our vision of being a key conservation organization in Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The plan describes an ambitious series of goals for the next 3 years (i.e., 2026-2028 in three core areas: Grow Supporter Engagement, Expand Education Programs, and Maximize Land/Facilities (utilization). Rehabiliation and Animal Welfare:
our goal is to provide the highest welfare standards to resident birds and birds admitted for rehabiliation.
- Expand and enhance our rehab facilities to meet the needs of the organization by increasing staff and professional development opportunities, and acquiring necessary technology and equipment.
- Advance our animal welfare procedures through projects like providing a comprehensive enrichment program, developing a re-nesting team, and recruiting more veterinarians.
Education:
Our goal is to increase personal connections between people and wildlife and inspire conservation action through our public education programs.
- Develop new program offerings and increase our reach to under-served groups.
- Expand and enhance our educational facilities to meet the needs of the organization by increasing staff and professional development opportunities, and acquiring necessary technology and equipment.
- Develop our facility into a popular educational and family destination by enhancing exhibit quality of enclosures, creating an enclosed visible flight area, expanding housing for resident birds and future new ambassadors.
Research:
Collaborate with other like-minded organizations on research and conservation projects to promote improved welfare of birds in our local environment.
- Engage in research to increase our knowledge of raptor biology, disease processes, and treatment protocols, and increase our field research contributions by monitoring local nesting populations and banding birds.
- Expand professional development opportunities so we may expand our participation in research projects.
Development:
Ensure that RAPTOR Inc. continues to grow while remaining a healthy organization that sustains our programs and services well into the future.
- Collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations to increase our combined conservation impact.
- Expand our revenue streams.
- Recruit board members who possess needed skills and resources.
- Maintain a leadership role in pertinent professional organizations.
- Develop our lower property for the on-site Education Center and Raptor Trail. Be prepared to purchase adjacent property if such property becomes available.
