Volunteer with RAPTOR Inc.
Volunteers are the backbone of RAPTOR Inc. and the organization could not function without them. Volunteers donate their time and talents to carry out our mission, to conserve birds of prey through rehabilitation, education, and research.
Volunteer activities may include transportation of injured raptors, cleaning of enclosures, maintenance of equipment, delivery of educational presentations, rehabilitation of raptors, maintenance of grounds, building perches or enclosures, and administrative activities. Our volunteers contribute in many unique ways!
If you would like to join our team, complete the following application and someone will be in touch with you. We currently have a large contingent of very reliable volunteers, so we are only interviewing individuals with specific needed skill sets.
Open Volunteer Positions
Rehabilitator: (examples: Professionals with a background in clinical medicine - such as veterinarians, veterinary technicians, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, Laboratory Technicians, Medical Assistants, etc.) We are currently seeking volunteers who can commit to volunteering 4 hours per week on Wednesdays. Rehabilitation volunteers assist with the care and treatment of ill and injured birds of prey admitted to the Raptor Center as well as our resident Avian Ambassadors. Skills needed: Rehabilitation volunteers must be able to work quietly and independently and are able to follow safety protocols and procedures when treating and handling birds of prey.
Saturday Maintenance Crew: (examples: any able-bodied person willing to work hard and get dirty.) We are currently seeking volunteers who can commit to 1 to 2 Saturdays a month for 3 to 4 hours to assist with cleaning and maintenance of enclosures, feeding birds, repairing perching, grounds keeping, and other duties.
