Ollie was found on April 28, 2015 on the ground under a nest occupied by an adult Great Horned Owl and a sibling. After checking for a physical injury and finding none, the young owl was placed back in the area with the adult and sibling. Two days later it was determined the owlet was not being fed by the adult and was constantly food-begging due to his hunger. Further evaluation showed the owlet exhibited abnormal behaviors and would be unable to recognize danger or survive on its own in the wild.
